Laser scanning of threatened vernacular architecture in South Africa

Vernacular architecture is an important part of every country’s unique heritage.  They’re using local materials in direct response to the their environment and should be preserved for future generations at all costs. Unfortunately natural and human-induced threats are causing the loss of many of these structures in South Africa. Before these precious heritages are lost forever, a laser scanning by a ScanStation C10  from Leica Geosystems was made to assess and prevent any further damage of these South African relics.
