The naval operations battleship, USS New Jersey – also known as the Black Dragon – was one of four battleships commissioned in 1939 for naval operations during World War II . It is the most decorated battleship in naval history, serving WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The Black Dragon was decommissioned in 1991 and now operates as a maritime museum. However, she still continues to make history with full-scale digital documentation effort.
On August 19, 2014, the museum worked together with Leica Geosystems and South Jersey geospatial services firm Haag 3D Solutions, to scan the American battleship.
